Looking at all of those confusing settings in the links above, I must say, it would be really great if we had the option to simply 'toggle on/off' auto-play from within the Opera homepage. Consider this a polite request. I'm sure there are more pressing concerns for the developers, but at the end of the day, WE should be the ones who control what's playing on our screens, not CNN. As websites become more aggressive in 'pushing' their crap down our throats, we need to have the tools to be able to push back. Anyway, thanks to Opera, for providing us with a forum to make these requests. There is no such forum on CNN.

Turning off automatic video playbackOpera for Windows
Hello Opera
Just a quick question: Some websites (like CNN) start to play videos automatically, even when you haven't clicked 'play'. Personally, I find this tactic annoying and intrusive, and it sometimes results in a page crash. Is there any way to turn off this 'auto play' feature? Thanks in advance.
PS: I just searched the Opera forum and found this topic discussed on 32 pages. Too lazy to read all 32 pages. Has there been any progress toward disabling auto-play? How about a quick re-cap from a kind soul? Thanks again.
And while I'm on a roll, here's a message to CNN and all the other websites that engage in this practice: 'If I want to watch your f-ing video, I will click on the f-ing PLAY VIDEO icon'. There. I always feel better after venting

Holy browser nerd, Batman! Back at my PC, just looked at the back-door links you provided. That should keep me busy for the next millennium.
Thanks again.

Happy CamperOpera for Windows
I've been using Opera Mobile on my Android phones for many years and have always been more than satisfied. Today, I finally installed Opera for Windows on my PC and was amazed. It looks great - and it's faster, more intuitive and easier to sync than the other browser I was using (whose name shall remain anonymous, but rhymes with Liarbox).
Opera is still The King of browsers.
Long live The King.

RE: Can't sign in to Opera account on Android app: "Temporary server error. Please try again later."Opera for Android
re: 3 posts up from this one:
Some good news to report, possibly helpful to others who are having difficulty logging in. First, some background: I live in China, behind the 'great firewall', so Google websites are all blocked. Now the good news: Using a VPN, I went to Playstore and downloaded the latest version of Opera for Android, version 4.3, not the Beta, fyi. I was then able to successfully log in to Opera AND sync my bookmarks by using the Google log in option. In other words, problem solved. Not sure if that helps anyone, but if you're having problems logging in to Opera, try logging in through Google. For whatever reason, it worked.

RE: Can't sign in to Opera account on Android app: "Temporary server error. Please try again later."Opera for Android
I hate to add another similar reply to this thread, but I am also having the same issue, unable to log in to my Opera account. I'm using a fairly new, top-shelf android mobile phone - the Vivo Xplay5S. I just recently switched from Firefox and downloaded Opera for Android - version 47.7 something, if that helps. Fyi, I am in China, which I thought might be the problem, but based on the other comments above, maybe not. Anyway, logging in is not a deal breaker since the Opera browser is otherwise wonderful in every way. Fast, great design and page rendering, fast video, everything you'd want in a mobile browser. So, thank you for offering this great browser for free - and good luck to you with this little bug! I am confident you can solve it.
