No sound in top tabOpera for Windows
Yesterday, from seemingly nowhere, sound lowered to very nearly nothing (not silence but not audible.)
This is ONLY on the selected tab. If you play a video on a tab there is no sound.
Leave it playing as you click on a different tab and the sound to the previous tab now plays.
Try to switch back and it fades (as opposed to switches off suddenly.)
The only workaround I've found is to play the tab then switch to another tab and reduce the size AND leave the cursor on the now small, open tab - this then allows me to see the second tab (behind) except the section covered by the small 'top' tab - which is silent of course.
This seems very strange - apparently no issue with sound or drivers, as sound is fine just not on the toppermost tab.
Any ideas gratefully received.
Sync and on screen layoutOpera for computers
Hi, I first used Opera on Android and later on my PC as well.
I have just bought a new Windows 10 laptop. I downloaded Opera, of course.
I signed in and sync'd data.
The PROBLEM: The layout of folder, bookmarks bar and speed dial are all some much older version of my set up: My old PC, still here has my preferred latest layout but the new laptop is syncing data from around a year ago.
On each laptop Opera is up to date. I tried logging out and logging back in. I tried un-installing Opera from the new PC and reinstalling then re-syncing. I tried this multiple times. Still, it syncs to the same - out of date - point (I'm guessing but possibly about a year ago.)
I tried logging out of my laptop and loggin back in - both while logged in to my Opera account and logged out. Still, the new computer will only sync to the out of date data.
Can anyone offer any insight or method to 'force' Opera on my Windows 10 machine to match the data (sync correctly, I assume) on my older machine (that is still here, luckily.)
Without this, there is no reason to continue and I have far too much content to reorganize manually, piece by piece.
RE: Bookmarks bar + problemOpera for computers
I have kept most of my well used bookmarks on the bookmarks bar. When I switched on my PC today, the add to book marks "+" button has disappeared.
I have tried removing and showing bookmarks bar and eventually, uninstalling and reinstalling Opera. Still the add to bookmarks is not present.
Can anyone tell me how to re-engage please?
Constant Not Responding messagesOpera for Windows
I have used Opera for over a decade now, I think. It has long been my favourite, especially on my phones.
In the last 4 or 5 weeks, every single time I ask it to anything at all - from change a tab, open a window or download a file or even just spellcheck, it freezes. It freezes the whole computer, not just the browser.
After 20 to 30 seconds a banner appears that reads "Opera (Not Responding)"
Another 20 to 30 seconds and the entire browser disappears (all tabs, all windows and even all Opera icons on my desktop and taskbar.) This leaves only a blank desktop and other icons
After another 10 to 20 seconds, open tabs reappear and start working, albeit slowly.
I tried un-installing and reinstalling several times, clearing any files or detritus left behind.
Sadly, this behaviour continues unabated.
I am using a Windows 7 laptop and several people suggested it was just too old to run the system. Plausible, sort of, except that Chrome runs fine (in the past Chrome when has struggled, Opera has proven much faster; Chrome has long been much more memory intensive from what I can tell, yet can run without fault - I double checked again just before writing this. Chrome fine. Internet Explorer fine. Opera, set as my default browser, just cannot seem to work.
Any ideas clever people... PLEASE?
RE: Opera using too much memory with lots of tabs opened and bookmarksOpera for Windows
In the last few weeks I have been repeatedly suffering with a tab closing and a message saying Ran out of memory (reload).
I would understand this if I had many tabs open but it has happened with as few as 2 open tabs. This is not good enough.
I first came to Opera because it was a light system. This now struggles more than Chrome, incredibly. Traditionally, Chrome has used far more memory than Opera.
Opera 'Login Not Secure' warningsOpera for Windows
I want to disable the warning message from Opera every time I am on an unsecured page.
When I sign on, in the current case, to my ISP account page a prompt pops up which reads "i. login not secure".
The problem for me is that this pop up then cover the box into which i need to put my username. I do not need reminding. I want to disable this warning but I can find not mention of how to do so in Help or on the Opera flags.
(I had hoped to be able to include screenshots but it seems they are not available to be added to a post here!)
Any ideas gratefully received.
