Since the last time I was here I've picked up quite a few things about computers, including Puppy Linux and JAR emulators.
By using Microemulator 2.0 in Puppy Linux mode or KEmulator in Windows mode one can run Opera Mini even on a device as old as a 2001 Sony VAIO laptop.
And of course there is Opera Mini 5 for a Windows CE Sylvania netbook.
The problem is that websites like Youtube, Yahoo! search page, and Deviantart.com no longer play as nice with Opera Mini. A couple of years ago even on that crummy underpowered netbook with Opera Mini 5 it was possible to do just about anything there- but with that AWFUL new website design NOBODY likes it is no longer possible to Comment, Reply, post Literature (modal), or Journals (modal). I solved most of the other problems at that site with URL tricks but those four do not involve URLS in this case.
People stuck with older devices could count on safe browsing experiences with Opera Mini, especially as with Microemulator 2.0 and KEmulator it is sandboxed.
Please update that browser so it can handle those things. Even without security software a proxy browser running sandboxed makes browsing safe again and makes the device all but invulnerable. Even recent devices could use it if safety is an issue.
