Once where there is nothing in the address bar, control-V & that popup comes. Another time i started to type, and then control-V & the pop-up

Hi @gordonisnz, when you have enabled the option "Clear cookies and site data when you quit Opera" under opera:settings/cookies, it will clear cookies and websites data on exit, but not the history.

There's an extension "eCleaner (Forget Button)", which is close to that what you want to achieve.
When you install it, pin it using "Extensions" (cube) button from the toolbar, click on its icon, select the items to be cleared and set the time period, then right click on the icon, select "Options", then check "Perform the last cleaning job on browser exit..." and click "Save".

It pops up a icon in the systray to remind you of some of Opera's features. You can check the startup list in Windows and disable it if you want.

I've found that with chromium-based browsers, you can only clear the cache when the browser is off (which releases the cache file(s) for independent access). What I've done is created a simple batch file that I run manually from my desktop with the browser off to delete the cache files whenever/if I notice the browser has slowed down or is consuming excessive RAM.

Hey, @gordonisnz! On a Windows 10 PC, the shortcut key to viewing the Opera Browser Task Manager while using the browser is Shift key + Esc key.

ctrl + shift + i and look at the "Elements" tab for a current snapshot of the dom. Or, goto "sources -> page" and select the page in question (look for it by title). The latter should give you the source as downloaded. If not, you can go to the Network tab, disable cache before loading the page and inspect the response for the page request.

As for the view-source:// way, I'm not sure how to work around that.

@leocg - When i view source - It jkeeps asking me if i want to re-submit the form data, it doesn't just give me the HTML source output.. I;ll do the INSPECT ELEMENT part now

Ive read about on the MEMORY thread in this forum, about Hardware Acceleration.

if i turn it ON - The forgeofempires website is fine.. if i turn hardware acceleration OFF - i just get a black screen in the background (foreground image are fine)...
but on that website, background images are an integral part of the game. Its useless without them. Soi have to keep accelearation ON.

The cache files should be in the \Profile\Data\Cache folder. You can see where the Profile folder is by looking under About Opera in the main menu.
You can change its location by adding the switch --disk-cache-dir={whatever path you want to the desired folder} to the target field of the shortcut that runs Opera, after launcher.exe. You need to put a space before the switch.
