Anyone else experiencing this? Opera GX is crashing on me every few seconds all of a sudden. I haven't changed any settings or installed any new extensions, so I have no clue why this is happening. I can't even keep it open long enough to submit a bug report so I had to use Edge, lol. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version and its STILL crashing. I'm not sure how to fix this, any ideas?

RE: Possible security issue? Ad videos automatically downloading to my deviceOpera for Android
@leocg Yeah, I've run multiple scans (Malwarebytes & Sophos which are 2 of the only few ones that actually work lol) and nothing comes up. I have Opera website permissions turned off/denied for everything including storage and autoplay. Adblock is turned on. I don't know how or which website downloaded these files directly to my device without my knowledge but it would be a serious security concern for sure.

Possible security issue? Ad videos automatically downloading to my deviceOpera for Android
Hey there, I've been trying to report this for several days but unfortunately kept hitting roadblocks. I didn't get a reply on Twitter and the support email redirects me here, so here's hoping.
I've found a few random ad videos that have been automatically downloaded to my device from Opera. I only noticed them as they popped up as a folder in my gallery the other day. I have absolutely zero malware. Is this intended behavior?

Site automatically got my location despite setting "always ask"Opera for Android
Hi there, I'm not sure if this is a security issue or I'm just not understanding how this works. I have my settings in Opera mobile (Android 9) on "always ask" for location. I've been using Opera for 2 years & so far every website has indeed shown a pop-up asking for permission to my location, which I can then enable/disable on a per-website basis. However I just visited a website for the first time today & it automatically knew my location without asking. I've cleared my history/cookies/cache etc. and even reset all my websites back to default just to make sure I hadn't given permission in the past but forgot about it. Then I even set my location to "denied" just to be safe. However it STILL knows my location down to the zip code. I'm a bit stumped here. I thought the point of this setting was to disable geolocation so my IP address cannot be linked to my location. Am I missing something? This is the first time a website has done this to me so I'm not sure if it's intentional or not.

opera://flags dark modeOpera for Android
Hey friends, I've just recently discovered I can enable dark mode in Brave browser (which also runs off Chromium) by going to chrome://flags and enabling certain experimental options. I tried to do the same in Opera but get forcibly redirected to opera://flags which does not have nearly as many options to play with. I've tried to Google-fu this topic but can't seem to find any official statements on it. Is there some secret magical trick to make dark mode work on Opera for Android? If it helps, I'm using the current beta version from Google Play, on a Samsung Galaxy S9+ running Android 9 (unrooted).
Oh P.S. any word on whether Opera GX will be getting an Android version? I just started using it on my Windows 10 PC & love it so far!

RE: Opera Beta 47 not accepting Opera password as passohrase.Opera for Android
Just want to chime in on this. I just had this same issue last night, so the problem is still present in the current builds (Opera mobile 49.2 and beta 50.0) both for Android. I spent several hours last night trying to figure out why I couldn't log in or sync my browser settings, after I changed my password recently. Finally stumbled on this post. It's a pretty big design flaw that one cannot participate in the forums for help without logging in... Lol. The steps provided by the OP above WORKED! So if anyone has this problem just follow these steps and it should fix the issue. I'll repeat them here:
Yeswap:
"Update: I was able to fix the issue of Opera for Android asking me to enter my Opera password as a "passphrase" by:
Opening Opera desktop and choosing Settings > Advanced synchronization settings > Reset synchronization. I logged back into Opera desktop with the same username and password as before. Then I logged into Opera Beta for Android and the "Passphrase needed" error was gone.It seems like the Reset synchronization option needs to be added to Opera Beta for Android to allow Android users to fix this issue without having to have a PC or Opera desktop."
