It seems I am no longer able to access ANY website.

Every time I try to access a web page I get "Your connection is not private" and no option to continue (Great decision here, guys. Really great decision.). I tried checking my network settings, I tried chancing Windows settings, disabling the AV and Firewall, reinstall Opera, clear cache and delete the user profile folder, nothing helped. Yesterday all was fine and now only Opera seems to be having these issues. Even IE works fine.

Any ideas?

I am using Windows 10 x64 1709 and Opera 52.0.2871.99

It seams to me Opera is anything but a browser lately.
After being unable to use it as a real browser due to the Out of Memory error (https://forums.opera.com/topic/17877/new-version-out-of-memory-issue) on a 16GB RAM PC, now Opera started to freeze, crashes and looses the session. And because it uses the shitty Chromium engine, managing the session is a real mess. Opera Sync does not work of course. It never did and when it actually did something it only messed up the session,
Of course, I'm expecting anyone here to give a damn about this issue, it's not like anyone cared about this browser lately but hey, maybe I am lucky and reporting a problem will actually get it fixed :|

I got a response from a Mod on Opera Blog about this issue.

Only recently we have been able to reproduce it on one local machine. Problem seems to affect only Windows machines and some user profiles. We still haven't found way to introduce this issue on any of developer machines so we aren't progressing with the fix as fast as we'd like to.

In my experience, this "Out of Memory" error and the crash afterwards, only happens when VPN is active and while a video is being played.

Not quite true. I am having this issue on both Windows and OSX, no video running and no VPN. It does seem to happen quite often with tabs with infinite-scroll websites, like Facebook.

I am using Opera 46.0.2597.57 (PGO) on Windows 10 RS2 up to date and in the last few months I keep getting seeing tabs crashing with Out Of Memory error. I keep on reloading the page and eventually it works but as soon as I start scrolling, it crashes again. Eventually the whole browser crashes.

My PC has 16 GBs of RAM and it rarely goes over 50%, the most memory-hungry program being Opera. Since I use a lot of tabs, especially when I am working, I turned on the "Delay loading of background tabs" option and this worked quite well until a few months ago.

The problem is so bad, that the error occurs on empty tabs of even the Settings and About pagees.

I've noticed quite some threads here regarding this issue and unfortunately I noticed most people blamed all on Windows. However, I also have the same problem on a MacBook Pro with 16GB RAM.

Any ideas? Lately Opera has been driving me nuts with errors and problems: pages don't render well on 4K displays and I see artifacts (I'm not talking about CSS and layout but the actual drawing on the screen), the phones / tablets simulator mess up the resolution of pages on Windows while on Mac work just fine (again, I suspect it has something to do with 4K display), my password list is empty although there are passwords saved and there are sites for whom Opera refuses to store the credentials.

Any way to fix this (as well as the other issues) or should I just switch to Vivaldi / Firefox and get over it?

I recently reinstalled OSX and Opera as well.
Unfortunately, since I first installed Opera on my new OSX installation, Opera refused to save passwords.
It prompts to save the password, I click Save but it does not save it.

Version: 40.0.2308.81 - Opera is up to date
Update stream: Stable
System: Mac OS X 10.12.0 64-bit

Any idea on how to fix this?

Hi @avl - I use Opera -> Quit Opera. Unfortunately, sometimes it just hangs there or some process (maybe plugin) keeps it running in background. If it takes more than 30 seconds to close it, I know I'll loose the session.

Hi everyone,

I've been using Opera Chromium since v20 or so and since then I keep having various issues on all major OSs.

On OSX for example I keep loosing my sessions / tabs, including pinned tabs. Opera starts with a new blank window and the Reopen Last Closed Window option is unavailable.

There are 2 situations:

1. When I quit Opera but Opera simply keeps running, it shows up in dock, but has no visible window and I cannot use it nor open a new window. In this case if I force-quit Opera I only sometimes get the option to reopen the last closed window.

2. When I quit Opera, the instance is closed, it does not show up in dock, but there is still a process running. In this case I can open a new window but I always loose the option to reopen the last closed window.

Any ideas? It drives me insane that this is still here since day 1. Is there any way to at least prevent this or to prevent opening a new window?

I asked this quite some time ago since I keep facing it since Opera 15 was released but it seams no fix yet.

Every 1/4 (approximately) of the time I open a new tab and type the address, the page won't load. The tab turns white (the speeddial goes away), the address bar becomes blank and it shows the page loading indicator but nothing happens. After this, the tab becomes unusable so I have to close it and open a new one.

This happens when I run Opera and I have many tabs opened. Some of them will just be like this and if I want to get them back I need to close Opera (since I cannot copy the address in that tab).

I also experience this when I click a link inside a page (open in new tab).

This is incredibly annoying, especially sine I want to switch to the new Opera for good (12.xx has huge memory issues). I kept waiting to see if this will be fixed, I tried normal and portable installation but no luck. And this is happening on both my Windows PCs.

Someone suggested that his ( https://forums.opera.com/topic/3089/speed-dial-not-loading ) might help but it doesn't. I tried a portable installation with 0 plugins and extensions but no luck. I also tried disabling the firewall and AV software as well as any custom scheduled task or tune up suite/function.

Now I also experience this on my work computer.

Any info on this?

First, let me say I haven't used Opera Mini since v4 or 5 (old Symbian phones) since I prefer Opera Mobile so I had to install it on my Android phone to make a side by side comparison first.

Till a few hours ago, Opera worked fine. It loads fast (I didn't even knew it has a loading screen before reading in the comments) and it loads pages fast. The data savings works great (got a 88% savings so far) but unfortunately it seams to be crashing now on eBanking websites I use and not only. Also, be aware that Opera Mini isn't the only browser that has data savings. UCBrowser does this (I'll probably use UCB as a comparison point since it's considered the best 3rd party browser in WPStore)

However...

*The interface is UGLY. It simply does not fit on WP. I understand the fact that you need to keep the same UI on all platforms but WP is different in terms of UI and so are the apps available for it. You managed to create a simple and clean interface on Opera Mobile. I don't see why you can't do it with Opera Mini.

*Fix the font rendering issue. Fonts are horrible and make reading stuff a nightmare. At least on low end devices.

*The search bar is useless. It should be integrated within the address bar to save space and make it look and feel more clean.

*You are missing Bing. Yeah, 80% of the market uses Google but some might want Bing for various reasons. And given the Windows Live account and Cortana integration, I'd say many do.

*Ditch the title bar. It uses up space for nothing. We all know we're using Opera Mini.

*Add adjustable speed dials, just like Live Tiles are. It's the WP trademark feature and you are missing it. UCBrowser has it.

*Add posibility to select between Mobile and Desktop version of website (User agent on Opera Mobile). I don't see why this wouldn't be possible on Opera Mini. Some websites are 'unviewable'/unusable without a mobile version.

*Proper download section with SD support

*Night mode

*(obviously, the less important thing) Transparent tile

*NOTE TO DEVS - Bring Opera Mobile to Windows Phone

It seams new versions are out yet this problem persists. Now, on 24.0.1558.53 it seams I'm getting the same problem with QuickTime plugin.

So instead of adding tab preview or other features how 'bout fixing this? I'm still having the never loading page bug on Windows since Opera 15 got out...:| Now it's 24. Thats 15 + 9(NINE!!!)

As stated above, I'm using Opera 23.0.1522.75 (update from 23.0.1522.60) and Flash 14.0.0.145 on Mac OS X 10.9.4 64-bit.
As for opened apps, I use XCode/Sublime Text/MAMP/ADT, one or more, depending on what I am working on + Terminal/Adobe Reader/iWorks apps/VBox (again, one or more, depending on what I am working on) + Photoshop/Illustrator/GImp (same like the others) + Vox music player and Messages for Y!, FB and GTalk and OneDrive (I'm using these all at once, along side other set of apps). I'm also trying to keep Opera opened with under 15 tabs.

Have the same issue since Opera updated to 23.
I get the "The "Shockwave Flash" plug-in is slowing down your Mac. You can wait for it to recover or stop it now." every 5 minutes.
I tried reinstalling Flash but no luck. Stoping flash causes pages to crash if there are flash clips or anything related there.
I'm using Opera 23.0.1522.60 and Flash 14.0.0.145 on Mac OS X 10.9.4 64-bit.

I'm only aware of that problem (displaying "Loading..." instead of any page including Speed Dial and internal pages) happening when a third-party software conflicts with Opera. A known case for me is one where Baidu PC Faster is the culprit, but it could also be a security software, a bank or game anti-hack "shield", etc. Close, disable or uninstall them and restart Opera/computer to test.
Look for suspicious software in the computer (add/remove programs, processes running it the task manager, startup items, scheduled tasks)...
Additionally, you can scan you computer for malware with AdwCleaner for example.
I don't know in what else I'd put my bets, it'd have a new unknown cause.

Hi,

I'm having this weird problem with Youtube clips.

It starts loading and plays for 5-10 seconds max and then it stops playing ad the clips stops loading somewhere at the middle of the clips (judging by the gray loading bar).

Also, in many cases, the clips have no sound.

This only happens on Youtube clips and I'm not having problems with any other flash clip on any other platform.

I have the latest Opera version.

Ideas?

Yeah, I noticed that behavior and it did happen with 2 normal windows as well.
Opera seams to remember the last "session".

However, this is not the case. I do check for other Windows and close them BEFORE I close the main window.
Besides, I don't use multiple windows, I only open them by accident from time to time and close the right away.

Hi everybody,

I'm using Opera 19 on OS X 10.8.4 64-bit and I'm having this weird problem.

I recently noticed Opera won't remember tabs and every time I run it it opens with an empty tab and it also looses the pinned tabs as well.
The problem is that the new opera (post 12.XX) never remembered any tabs to begin with so every time I had to go to History->Reopened Last Closed Window but lately I was unable to use this method since the option is unclickable.

Obviously, the "Continue where I left off" is selected but this doesn't work.

This is strange since I don't have this problem on Windows.

Any ideas?
