RE: Opera Sync in Browser does not work anymore. and then it freezes...Opera for Windows
Still no improvement on the latest Opera 69.0.3686.77
I have also created a new Opera account to see if the problem persists... it does! Although it worked for a wile at the beginning, but after several minutes Opera crashed anyway.
Luckily managed to sign out of Sync (had to try a gazillion times, since Opera crashed when trying to click the "final" OK button)
Are you Opera Developers even working on that issue? Doesn't seem so.
I am very disappointed and sad. Always been loyal to Opera since Version 6 on WinXP back in the past.
Nevertheless I will stay with Opera, even without Sync.I really hope, you won't turn Opera in something like Chrome or Edge in future...

RE: Opera Sync in Browser does not work anymore. and then it freezes...Opera for Windows
A couple of weeks ago I realized that "Hardware Acceleration" was taking Opera down.
Since I turned it off, even Opera Sync is working without any problems.I'm running Windows 7 SP1 64-bit on both my desktop and laptop with latest Opera 68.
To all of you having crashes and freezing sync, I think it is worth a try to disable hardware acceleration.
If it already is, good luck...

RE: All Extensions gone after copying Profile to new laptopOpera for Windows
@leocg said in All Extensions gone after copying Profile to new laptop:
- Go to the extensions page and enable developer mode
- Click Load unpacked
- From you back up, select the Extensions folder, then the sub-folder with the extensions you want to reinstall and, finally, the folder with the version of the extension.
OK, finally I have my Extensions back. About 20, I didn't count.
But I found out, that Opera deletes the Extensions folder inside my profile folder each time I launch Opera.
What I had to do is, first, launch Opera (it then removes all Extensions - OK, whatever), then with Opera running copy back all Extensions (the Extensions folder) and, finally, "load unpacked Extensions" via the button under Developer Mode (which I had already enabled).
At least most Extensions were loaded. With one extension Opera told me that the "manifest" file is corrupted or something. I don't even know which Extension that was. Anyway...The other problem is, that some extensions settings are gone too. For example, I use the V7 Sessions Extension, where I can save opened tabs and windows as sessions, or the V7 Notes Extension, where I can save copied text from a website to Notes.
All are gone! That really sucks! I have it all saved inside my Opera profile folder and just wanted to copy it to another installation (my laptop) and Opera kills it all. I am very disappointed. Why does Opera do this?
Google Chrome, for example, stores all extensions in my account and when I reinstall Chrome somewhere else and login, all my Extensions are back too, with all their settings and data.
I think, it's time that Opera adds Extensions to their "Opera Sync", which they should improve or better said: repair (because now it is not working very well sometimes).
Enough said,
is there any other way to get my Extensions and their data back in a batch process?Any hints highly appreciated.
Kind regards.

All Extensions gone after copying Profile to new laptopOpera for Windows
Hi folks!
I've got a little problem over here...
On my desktop PC I copied everything under:
Profile: C:\Users\John\AppData\Roaming\Opera Software\Opera StableMost settings were adapted:
- Interface and Browser settings
- Search Engines
- Autofill Data
- Shortcuts
- Languages and Spell Check
- History
- Bookmarks
- Speed Dial
but some were not:
- Passwords (no big deal, I can import them from a previously exported CSV)
- Extensions => now, that just sucks!
Is there anything I can do to get my Extensions back?

@phaedon Same thing here.
I think it is currently not possible -
RE: Speed dials missing after fresh installOpera for Windows
I know the situation, when all speed dials are gone, especially after new installation.
You may want to try the following:
go to "O-Menu" > Bookmarks > Bookmarks and check if your speed dials are within another Speed Dial folder.
With each Windows (sometimes Opera) installation a new Speed Dial folder is created (the name of your computer)For example, my computer is called "Home" and therefore Opera generates new "Home"-folders under "Speed Dial" / "Other Speed Dials"
Check, if your speed dial bookmarks are in one of these folders. If so, just delete the current dials and copy-paste your previous dials.

RE: I lack the ability to share linksSuggestions and feature requests
What exactly are you talking about?
If you want to share links between your devices (eg. between your desktop/notebook and android phone) you can try "My Flow"
or
use a QR-Code extension to generate a QR code which you can scan with your mobile -
RE: Bookmarks goneOpera for Windows
This may be caused by an automatic update.
Sometimes updates eat up the extensions and since V7 Bookmarks is an extension, it may be vanished.
Or for some reason the bookmarks weren't loaded.You can try to check if you still got the bookmarks file
Press the O-Menu and go to Help > About Opera, check your Opera Profile path (after "Profile: ") and browse.
Do you have a "Bookmarks" or "Bookmarks.bak" in there? -
RE: Opera 68 is very slow if using Speed DialOpera for Windows
Hi everyone, if your Opera is extremely slow, disable "Use hardware acceleration when available"
I don't know what the developers did, but HA makes Opera unusable (Opera Stable, Opera GX)

Opera (Update) Servers IP addresses?Opera for Windows
Hi there!
I have a problem with opera and my firewall (which is ESET Internet Security).
For personal reasons the firewall is set up to "interactive mode", which means each in- or outgoing connection from any Program or service is being monitored and user input is required in order to allow the connection.
The ESET firewall only allows absolute paths without wildcard support.
Since Opera changes its folder structure with each update, that means some extra work for me.
With every update I have to allow multiple applications to establish a connection.And ESET is not planning to change anything (adding wildcard support).
ESET forums postThe only thing I can do now is to add the Opera servers and allow any connection to them from any Program.
So in comes my question:
Does anyone know which servers (IP addresses, IP address ranges, etc.) are used by Opera (Opera Software AS)?
right now I have checked only a few IPs which were shown in the ESET dialog box:For example the latest Opera Stable (v68) triggers following IP when Update & Recovery is chosen:
185.26.182.95
-> whois on whoer.net
-> IP address: 185.26.182.95
-> Hostname: ams.autoupdate.opera.com → 185.26.182.95
-> IP range: 185.26.182.0 - 185.26.183.50
-> ISP: Opera Mini Proxy
-> Organization: Opera Mini ProxyNow I have set up a firewall rule to allow TCP&UDP in- and outbound connections to this IP range.
I hope this is safe enough...
Any other ideas? IP addresses? IP ranges? workarounds?Many thanks in advance.

RE: Opera Sync in Browser does not work anymore. and then it freezes...Opera for Windows
Same thing here.
Opera Stable 67.0.3575.53
Windows 7 SP1 64-bitNo matter what I do, with Sync enabled Opera freezes after about 20-30 seconds, giving me no other choice then force close Opera.
So I temporarily signed out of Sync and things work just fine for now.
Please fix this!
