I want to make things clearer: I'm using Chrome again because it uses way less CPU (specially on YouTube: C=8% / O=30%) and the pages load instantly, while Opera is getting this weird and annoying delay to open pages - firewall is properly set.

RE: High cpu usage watching youtubeOpera for Windows
CPU usage is not as high as before, but it is still way higher than Chrome's on YouTube. While watching the same video, Opera gets consistent 30% CPU usage, while Chrome only 8~10%. Disabling audio tab animation does nothing to change this.
I really like Opera, the look and feel is amazing, but I'm not using it as my main browser until it's solved for good.

RE: Version:70.0.3728.178 -Slow since latest updateOpera for Mac
@stevenjcee I really like Opera, but since they removed Instant Search, which as a killing feature, I don't have any strong reason to stay using it. If Chrome gets better, like Speed Dial and mouse gestures, I would probably go back to it.

RE: Version:70.0.3728.178 -Slow since latest updateOpera for Mac
@nintendork07 to me, it happens everywhere: opening a link on a page, opening a Speed Dial link, opening a link on a new tab.

RE: Version:70.0.3728.178 -Slow since latest updateOpera for Mac
it's slow for me too. When I click on a link, for example, it doesn't respond for some time, then it opens the link normally. This may take 5 to 10 seconds.
The Opera itself doesn't freeze, it just delays to start loading the page. It's really weird.

RE: Opera slow after an updateOpera for Windows
@Minotus said in Opera slow after an update:
If I click a link from Google result, it takes 5-30 seconds to load the page
The same thing is happening to me for a few weeks now.
It happens everywhere: opening a link on a pge, opening a Speed Dial link, opening a link on a new tab.
It's really inconsistent. It doesn't happen on any other browser.

RE: Opera 70 comes with easier access to closed tabs, simpler searches, and new Workspace iconsBlogs
How can I disable 'recently closed tabs' on 'search in tabs'?
I find it useless, taking space of open tabs; also putting them on top makes no sense. -
RE: How can I get rid of the sidebar?Opera for Windows
@Llysh I did this many times in the last months, but eventually the sidebar opens automatically. It's really annoying.

RE: High cpu usage watching youtubeOpera for Windows
I don't remember if I said that before, but even with v68 fixing this issue, it still uses 2% to 3% of CPU (Intel 2450m) only to this audio tab animation. I don't think it is something that makes sense. Audio indication should be fixed, like in Chrome.

RE: Instant search box gone?Opera for computers
@acidinmyfridge too risky. I'm probably going to switch to Vivaldi if the devs don't make IS back.

RE: Instant search box gone?Opera for computers
@loveoleh does PIP have a hotkey? I haven't found any. I find it difficult to click on the icon to dettach the video. And it's pretty annoying to see this icon appear all the time when I hover the mouse or use VideoSpeed Controller. I wish I could hide this icon and activate via hotkeys.
And I'm still missing Instant Search a lot. The devs should take in consideration all the complaints and make it back.

@Product-Manager I could even clear all my doubts while watching a fullscreen video. It was the dream.

RE: Opera 68 is here with built-in Instagram in the sidebarBlogs
@misterdoge I also miss the top right drop down menu. I use to access it with CTRL+Q and change tabs using TAB. It was awesome. But removing Instant Search was (still is) so upsetting that I only complained about it. I really hope the devs bring IS back.

@georgekon it got faster indeed. I thought it was only because I overrode gpu blacklist. Anyway, I prefer a heavier browser with Instant Search, if I'm being honest.

@leocg it's not, but I have no use for it. I only (really) miss Googling without opening a new tab.

@leocg thanks. I replied the dev about it. Let's hope they consider making it back.

RE: Instant search box gone?Opera for computers
@avl sorry, but Search in Tabs is pretty useless unless you open dozens of tabs. I never used it in Instant Search.
Instant Search is a great feature, I used it a lot and should not have been removed, but improved.
I think despite all your efforts, the users didn't use them because they didn't know it was there. Instant Search improves productivity so much I bet no one dropped using it after knowing about it.

RE: Opera 68 is here with built-in Instagram in the sidebarBlogs
@leocg we still don't have any answer about removing Instant Search. Why? It's such a great feature.
The worst part is this Search in Tabs "new" feature, which was also present in Instant Search, but I never used it. I really miss Googling with CTRL+SPACE instead opening a new tab like a cave man.

RE: Opera 68 is here with built-in Instagram in the sidebarBlogs
Why did you remove Instant Search? It's one of the main reasons I use Opera instead of Chrome or Vivaldi. It's been a few hours since I updated Opera and I'm missing it a lot! There's any possibility of this feature coming back?
