However, I am not pretending to use other than default, but just want to use it properly according to my location (I live in Uruguay).

I've tried several ways to reach to a solution which seems to be not as easy as I thought. Having a look at the file default_partner_content.json I guess that the google.com.uy wouldn't work because it is not in the countries list programmed in the file (I knew we are a little country, no need to remind it this way...)

What I tried was to edit the file with an online .JSON editor (I am not a programmer) but there seems to be a "Synthax mistake" which won't let me even compile the replacement nor the ORIGINAL file. I wanted to add my country to the country list and www.google.com.uy but no success as said before.

So, is there any solution or suggestion for me? I'd be glad to hear you.

If I put in Opera e.g that I live in Brazil, It will automatically re-direct to www.google.com.BR
BUT
If I put in Opera that I live in Uruguay (I do), it will not automatically re-direct to www.google.com.UY
Instead it searches in www.google.com and not local results are given.

Viejodelabolsa, try accept Google tracking. Are you logged in?
You mean Uruguay is not in Opera's language list maybe, don't you?
What's your install? Localised?

Google already knows my position, because it accurately points where I am at Google Maps. So I think the problem is not with Google, but with Opera. Also, if I type google.com it redirects to google.com.uy, but I don't get the same result using the Speed dial search,

Curious is the fact that if I set country editing the Local State file, to for example Fr (France), it does the job with google.fr. Same with Brazil and .br. But setting it to Uruguay (UY) will just make the Speed dial search into Google.com

I already had a look at that thread, and that file already has the right info:

"location": {

"country": "uy",

"country_from_server": "UY",

The issue here, is that as said before, UY does not point to any direction in defaultpartnercontent.json

In summary, any country that is not in that list, will just take google.com as default. Let me state clear than www.google.com.UY does exist.
