how do i get this browser to go to exactly wht i typed in the adress bar?
EG, if i have visited:
https://auth.opera.com/account/edit-profile?service=auth + some other opera\x\c\x... etc
and then i try to shorten the adres to:
https://auth.opera.com
it always auto-fills crap in behind and when i hit enter i go to the auto suggested location rather than to the address i actually typed in... frustrating as hell!!!the auto-fill is Nice, but the top.default option should always be "as-typed"
most commonly i first follow a search-link to a posting in a forum or something then i want to see the home page so i lopp off the last few things back to the .com... but that seems to almost never work in opera,
Other browsers in my experience have a button or arrow yo can hit to go to the address you typed and ignore the auto-suggested lines. -

Type it whatever you want to type in then hit the delete key and then hit enter. That will get ride of anything to the right of the cursor and go to whatever you had in the address bar 'as typed'.

Ah, that seems to work, guess i was using backspace instead of delete"
Another issue though:
speed-dial does NOT seem to be configurable as stated in many places i have found on searching; they all seem to think there should be a configuration button on the lower right, which i can't find.
i hate the max width of 4x (currently auto-config is giving me 4x6 and the bottom 2 rows are off the bottom on the auto-configured screen.; I would much prefer the 7-wide i used way back before Opera changed engines.
is there a command-string that will open the configuration page now that the button seems to be missing? -

You have to enable Power User mode. Open Settings (Alt+P), click on a blank space somewhere on the screen and type the Konami Code. You can now set the number of Speed Dial columns.
Now, if you want to change the size of the icon you can use the zoom feature.
