<![CDATA[Change of search engine]]>This question have probably been answered thousand of times, but I have only found answers for older versions of Opera. I have version 19.0.1326.63 installed. How do I change the search engine in the speed dial window? Its now set to the Russian Yandex, and I would like to use google.

Hi Jeteagel, maybe this will help you in some way:

  1. Close the Opera, go to the Opera user profile directory (you can find the path to the profile in O-Menu->About Opera->Paths->Profile),

  2. Open the "Local State" file in your favourite text editor, and change the "country" and the "country_from_server" values as follows: "country": "US", "country_from_server": "us",

  3. After that, change also the "timestamp" value (it's important - without this it will not work), for example:
    from this "timestamp": "1385978822600000000" to this "timestamp": "1485978822600000000",

  4. save the changes, close the file, and reopen the Opera.
