See green hatch area in my screenshot.<img src="/assets/uploads/files/1789234863522-image_2026-09-12_134104345.png" alt="image_2026-09-12_134104345.png" class=" img-responsive img-markdown" /></p>

You nailed it in your original implemenation, and the new "wrong" <img src="https://forums.opera.com/assets/plugins/nodebb-plugin-emoji/emoji/emoji-one/1f642.png?v=ffrjq97ccbo" class="not-responsive emoji emoji-emoji-one emoji--slightly_smiling_face" title=":-)" alt="🙂" /> default was driving me nuts! <img src="https://forums.opera.com/assets/plugins/nodebb-plugin-emoji/emoji/emoji-one/1f642.png?v=ffrjq97ccbo" class="not-responsive emoji emoji-emoji-one emoji--slightly_smiling_face" title=":-)" alt="🙂" /></p>

<p dir="auto">Also, you can also think when the user hover on the tab, it can get bigger. This might me intertvine with the sidebar, so you can give this feature to the users that closed that feature.</p>
<p dir="auto">Overall, it is an interesting way of use the engine. Well done!</p>

<p dir="auto">*If doing some accent on the tabs count box (personally, I'd prefer doing more accents on islands top body like previously), it would be obvious to transform the box into 'new tab in island' button on mouse hover. Instead of the small circle appearing catching somewhere at the bottom.</p>

<p dir="auto">And in overall, if the color schemes are applied for vertical mode, why the same way is missed in case of horizontal tabs.</p>
