Opera developer обновляется несколько раз в неделю и позволяет узнать, какие особенности и функции появятся в новых продуктах. То есть "тестовая версия", которая может работать нестабильно. В обычной(stable) добавляются изменения протестированные в версии developer.

What is the difference between Opera Developer and normal one?

Well, there are three release lines (for the __nu__Opera):

  1. Opera Stable is an end product, final release line;
  2. Opera Next is a beta version line - not fully developed;
  3. Opera Developer is an "alpha version" line, raw product - for geeks to catch bugs to deal with, etc.

A user can practically have all three lines installed on their system. Those run and update separately, independent of one another.
