recently, when i open or change between tabs of any google service, opera force reloads and logs me into whichever account has most recently been signed into. e.g. i had my professional inbox open, i opened a new tab using my bookmark to search something on youtube, but it opened the wrong account. i switched to the correct account on youtube and when i went back to my inbox tab, opera force reloaded the page and logged me into my youtube email.

TL;DR it seems that opera will not let me have more than one tab of any google service open, unless i want to switch accounts every time i change tabs, to the point that it is over-riding my bookmarks.

is there anything that can fix this? it has become so annoying i am considering dropping opera altogether if there is nothing to be done.

A good workaround is enabling Guest Tabs from opera://settings/early_bird (then reload the tab as a guest to keep accounts separate). Also, try checking a few settings: go to opera://settings/userInterface and disable “Snooze inactive tabs to save memory”, then open opera://settings/batterySaver and make sure battery saver is off. If you’re using Opera GX, disable any GX Control limiters. Finally, you can install the extension https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/disable-automatic-tab-dis/dnhngfnfolbmhgealdpolmhimnoliiok/source
and allow it in Opera’s extensions page this often helps stop Opera from force-reloading or resetting sessions.

Then, goto the URL
opera://settings/batterySaver
and make sure the batter saver is disabled. And, if you're using Opera GX, make sure you're not using any limiters in the GX Control sidebar panel.

Then, install https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/disable-automatic-tab-dis/dnhngfnfolbmhgealdpolmhimnoliiok. Once installed, goto the URL
opera://extensions
and make sure "Allow access to search page results" is enabled foe the extension. You can enable it in incognito mode too if you want.

Then, see if that stops Opera from force-reloading the page.

Then, goto google.com. Then, right-click that google.com tab and choose "Reload as guest tab". That will open a new tab where you can sign in to a different google account in that tab and goto youtube.com in that tab for example.

That will allow you to have 2 different accounts. Doing "reload as guest tab" again won't help you get a 3rd though. However, you can open a private window (ctrl + shift + n) and log into a 3rd Google account there. That will get you 3 total.

Besides those things, as said, you can enable "Revived GX Profiles" in Early Bird, restart Opera, goto the URL
opera://settings/profiles
and create extra standard profiles. You can then run those extra profiles at the same time as your main one. You can launch them via their desktop shortcuts or their taskbar icons (if on Windows 11 23H2 for example), or by clicking the menu at the top left of Opera and going to the "Profiles" submenu, or by clicking the profile you want at the URL
opera://settings/profiles
.

Those are for Opera GX. For Opera Air, you can create multiple profiles this way.

Opera doesn't have container tabs like Firefox does.

The google.com website allows you to switch between Google accounts you're signed in to, but not sure if the site allows you to load special URLs to have all of them active at once. Probably not though.
