This is the second time "update?" has popped up right over the tabs button as I'm about to tap it, and I inadvertently tell opera to update.

How do I prevent the update prompt from randomly popping up?
Basically, how do I stop Opera from checking for updates?

Google Play Store indicates that an update is available, but since Android has upgraded to version 13, Opera has orphaned my device. I am not sidelined by the issue yet, but I am sure it will present itself in the not too distant future.

Need a way to lock in the superior 88 version since they destroyed the browser just like on desktop when they replaced opera 99 with the abomination known as opera one.

It's a slow laggy bubble group mess of a turd now it's disgusting. On pc had to switch to vivaldi bit on Android there is nothing better than opera 88

If not, you may be able to disable the annoying "Update" pop-up notifications by going to your device Settings => Notifications => App Settings. Under the App Notification panel, select "All Apps" from the drop-down selection control. Scroll down to the Opera app, and if the notification control is set to "On", then turn it off. That should prevent any annoying notifications from the Opera app. You will still see the "Update Available" button on the Opera app control panel, but the pop-up notifications should cease.

This is where the browser pops up a message while in use, saying "an update is available! Do you want to install it?" with "cancel" or "update" as options, and the "update'button being right above the bottom of the browser, where the tabs button is.

You can disable automatic updates on Play Store.
