If you are using a very old version of Opera and of MacOS, it's probably the cause of your issues.

macOS Version

Error: ERR_TUNNEL_CONNECTION_FAILED

Reproducible Case:

Attempting to access academic PDFs (e.g., books like "The Ulysses Theme" from Anna's Archive/LibGen)

Occurs ONLY in Opera (tested in Safari/Chrome - works normally)

Persists after:

Disabling Opera VPN & all extensions

Clearing cache/cookies

Network reset (router reboot, DNS flush)

Impact:
This blocks time-sensitive thesis research. As Opera is my primary browser for its productivity features, resolving this would greatly support my academic work.
