I'm trying to use the current version of Opera coming from the old version, and I'm having trouble finding some functionality. I did search some of these topics, but the threads weren't terribly helpful. I'm hoping I can get some direct answers if possible. TIA

How do I open a file? Like if I have an html file on my computer, how do I get there from within Opera? It was previously File... Open.
-
How do I turn off underlined links? It was previously Preferences... Webpages... <uncheck> Underline normal links
-
From a link, sometimes I want to open a new tab (to the front) and sometimes I want to open a new tab in background... how do I do both of those now?
-
How do I turn off mouseover help, like on vBulletin forums I don't want it to show thread previews.
-
Is there a button or quickkey for going to my homepage? Not Start Page, but my designated homepage.
-
Where do I find settings for mouse gestures? Does "right-click, left-click" no longer work for "go back" for instance?
-
Does Ctrl-click no longer work for save-as?

- How do I manage my bookmarks? Show All Bookmarks Ctrl-Shift-B is really cumbersome. For instance I want to move all my imported bookmarks from the imported bookmarks folder to the root level (unsorted bookmarks?)... how do I do that other than selecting each one individually and dragging it?

Ctrl+o

I don't think you can, never tried.

To open a tab in the background you middle click it. Thats the scroll wheel click unless you have an old school 3 button mouse without a wheel. I don't know how to open a new tab in the foreground by default, if there even is a way, as I use an extension called 'Classic Tabs' that adds that functionality when holding the shift key and clicking.

Thats basically an ad and I hate them too. I refuse to use forums that have they. You have to block it using an adblocker extension like Adblock Plus. While its not built in like the old version of Opera it a better tool and maintains its own list.

Not that I know of but I don't use it. I start with the speed dial.

IIRC mouse gestures are going to be added back in with version 29. Only a small grouping of them so far. You might see if an extension has more though.
-
No, thats the open link in new tab button.
-
You can select more than one bookmark at a time. Either click and drag to highlight many bookmarks or click the checkbox in their iron to select them one at a time. You can then drag them over.

My suggestion is: open it once then never close it maybe pin it. Ta-dah, the open tab itself is the shortcut. Or grab an extension...

Turn on "rocker" gestures in the settings.

So I'm just curious... does everyone view webpages with underlines all over the page? That's terrible for webpage design. Not criticizing, just wondering if that's how everyone else views the web.

No, not the random hyperlinks in text. This is something else. It was previously "Show tooltips"

Yes, if you do it on a link. But old functionality was save-as if you did it on an image.
Anyway, thank you both for your responses and suggestions.
