On s60 if you want to reset your device (or copy/paste on a new mounted sd) without loosing data then move Opera Mini on sd card and follow the procedure. The tricky part (as copy/paste from c: to e: or vice versa) is that when insert/reinsert memory card you must have a backup (.sis or .sisx) file of original Opera Mini otherwise default data will be deleted by a new install procedure. I think that will pass all data (as you said: bookmarks, saved pages, cookies) also when you unmount memory card from one device and mount on another s60 phone but I didn't tried yet. That was the problem 'halved' by you if I understand correctly.

you must have hacked your phone so that you can access
system folder.
After that, all you need do is navigate to locate where the opera 7.1 (SYMBIAN VERSION) is installed to.
Using explore, copy c://system/apps/OperaMini and then paste it into your memory card.
When you get the new phone, install opera and copy that OperaMini folder (replace if prompted) to c://
system/apps (if folder dosen’t exist create it).
That does it.
Both your history,download
record, bookmarks, saved pages, visited pages etc, will
be back in it.
