No issues there. Why not add a function there to enter a URL in the search bar?

While you were in fullscreen mode, you could press F2, which presented you with a dialog in the middle of the screen with an address field (and autocomplete drop-down) where you could type the address you want and press enter.

Something like that might be cool for current Opera.

That's one reason I could think of at the moment.
