I'm trying to set the search box on my desktop's taskbar to link to Opera instead of Microsoft Edge. I've made Opera the default for all my search settings but whenever I use the search box on my desktop's taskbar it continues to redirect me to Microsoft Edge's browser.

Does anyone know a way to circumvent this so that it will send me to the Opera browser and not the Microsoft Edge browser?

Please Go to:
1: setting
2: select apps
3: Default apps
4: tap on opera browser
5: set Opera as your default browser

  • Find and click "Opera Stable"

Not sure about the current status with the current version of Windows 11. https://github.com/rcmaehl/MSEdgeRedirect/issues doesn't look promising. Something to investigate though.
