I've completely deleted all visible & invisible filenames containing "opera" - latest version still gives this error - so I'm assuming the corrupted file is embedded in some hidden volume in Mac OS under some other filename ... this makes it useless to me as it cannot be fixed without a fresh installation of Mac OS. So, for me, after years of using Opera back on Mac OS 9 days, Opera is done. Very sad. Goodbye.
