<![CDATA[Pepper flash plugin?]]>I read recently that Opera is gradually moving its users over to the pepper flash plugin.

EDIT: found it here: https://forums.opera.com/post/65049 I am on the beta and am using that version of Opera.

Can someone please explain in layman's terms what this means for the end user?

Do we still upgrade flash? Or will this be like Chrome, and be automatically upgraded by itself?

Does this replace the flash program that we install from teh adobe site, or what?

It's enabled in opera://plugins right? Where do you receive that message saying Flash is outdated?
Check whether plug-ins are set to run automatically in Opera Settings - Websites in the sidebar.
Try disabling Opera Turbo from the main menu.

it is happening on facebook. I can't watch fb videos.
Opera turbo is disabled.

Youtube does work without Flash Player now, you dont need it.

No. Live streams works only in MSE & H.264. Opera support MSE & H.264 only for Linux.

Don't worry that means it runs on a separate process to increase security.

Now when you want to install Flash to use in Opera you should get the Pepper/PPAPI edition to get the best experience.
In the future the support for the old edition (Netscape / NPAPI) will be cut in all Chromium-based browsers.

Opera won't include Flash, you still download it from Adobe and it updates automatically via its own Adobe updater.

It replaces itself. Now when you visit the Adobe website with Opera, Adobe will serve you the Pepper edition automatically instead of the Netscape one.

I just disabled pepflashplayer32_16_0_0_280.dll and it's back to normal now.
