That's bonkers.<br />
Having a hard time figuring out how to clear history and cookies every time I close the browser which I suspect is the problem.<br />
I really like Opera but hiding or eliminating this option isn't acceptable.</p>

<p dir="auto">It can be an extension causing the issue, for example.</p>
<p dir="auto">It can be also that auto complete is changing the address when you type it</p>

<p dir="auto">Then, goto the URL <code>opera://about</code>, take note of the "profile" path, close Opera and delete the "History" file in the profile folder.</p>
<p dir="auto">Then, start Opera, open up a new tab, type <code>https://www.amazon.com/</code> and press enter.</p>
<p dir="auto">Then see how things work from then on when you type <code>amazon.com</code> in the address field.</p>

It shouldn't be an issue with any version. I'm having to use CCleaner to wipe history, which is a pain every time I close the browser. An option for this should be prominently  displayed in the 'privacy and security' section of settings.</p>
