<![CDATA[How to restore Opera Gx from backup?]]>About a month ago I made a backup of opera since I was going to reinstall windows. This was a manual backup, I went to all 3 folder locations and copied to another location. I was going to get a new pc, so decided to hold on bringing in the backups. My version is 114, while new one is 116. If I try to delete the current versions and move over all 3 folders will it work or is there something else I need to do?

Move the Extensions folder to a different place. Then go to opera://extensions, click on Load Unpacked, find the Extension folder that you have moved, open the folder of the extension you want to install, select the folder with the version number.

There were also a few things missing here and there. I went ahead and backed up all 3 folders which brought everything back. Only thing I had to do after that was to update Opera Gx. Thank you.

Install: C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Programs

Profile: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Opera Software\Opera GX Stable

Cache: C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Opera Software\Opera GX Stable

For passwords, you need to use Sync or export the passwords.
