Why does a new window open when I click on one of my bookmarks?

How do I change that?

I want to open the bookmark in the window I'm already working in, not a new one.

I am not using the bookmarks bar but the bookmark row at the left.

Sorry - no I ment a new tab.
There are a lot of tabs after a while, too many!
I'd rather choose myself when a new tab is needed.
