Reason for the request to finally apply the available outstanding patch:

People working in the microcomputer education and in the IoT
development/maker area, as well as with ongoing new USB application Innovations, have for years had a great wish for an easily mobile, light-weight and affordable platform and tool that sadly is now only available for the PC browser.

Current Status
The source to allow the detaching of the unused kernel level USB drivers on Android is already available to allow the Android API to gain access, and is working and tested - as I understand by the chromium devs since two months ago, and is just sitting there with no further action of adding it to the active production code base.

The greater community of people working in these areas would be grateful if this finally would be implemented for evaluation in perhaps to begin with, Opera Beta.

This would also help to spread the visibility of the Opera browser to an extended category of users.
