<![CDATA[how can you disable Instagram's infuriating video autoplay?]]>Nothing works, as every plugin that I use is ineffective, and even the *opera-specific setting/content info is at least 3 years out of date and worthless…

*Unless, I can get the updated info, which is the point of this post…

And no, the HTML5 no autoplay plugin does not work!

The only effective way I found to block IG's infuriating autoplay is to not use the Opera browser at all!

Thanks in advance for any info that you can provide!

Edit: I went to : opera://settings/content/siteDetails?site=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.instagram.com%2F and there is no listing item for video.

Though there IS a disable sound option, so it looks like Opera is a crappy browser for IG and the only way to stop IG's infuriating video autoplay is to stop using Opera altogether…

As I have no problem with IG's autoplay, with Vivaldi/Brave/FireFox, though I prefer Opera over those other browsers…

Edit2: Whelp, it looks like this browser allows for video autoplay as I went here ⇒ opera://flags/#autoplay-policy and could not find anything related to disabling video at all, so it does indeed look like Opera is the worst browser for IG after all!

But as far as extensions are concerned, there are no browser extensions that will work, I have been scouring the chrome/opera store, and haven't found anything that would work.

So it looks like it's Vivaldi/Firefox for IG then, until someone develops an extension that works…
