Opera will inform the servers not to track.</p>
<p dir="auto">Servers are not forced to follow the header and may ignore the wish to stop Tracking.</p>

Basically, it sends a request to web applications (the sites you visit) that they disable tracking. Unfortunately web applications may choose to ignore it as its not a legal requirement. Who knows how effective it really is. It's surely better to use it though just in case.</p>
