<![CDATA[Apocalyptic upgrade!]]>I was having some problems with YouTube and one of the trouble shooting suggestions was to make sure my browser is up to date. Okay, fine.

I was running version 12.xx, I don't remember which xx it was. I went to Opera.com and launched the installer download.

Ba-Bam! I went from version 12 to 26 in a heartbeat.

It looks like Chrome. I don't like Chrome. I want my menu across the top back. I want my classic skin back. I want to get rid of that pesky speed dial.

Most importantly, I want my BOOKMARKS and SAVED PASSWORDS back.

I do I make my world get back to normal.

I liked the way that I had Opera set-up. My Win7 installation looks like Win 98 because that's what I like. I don't use the latest version of MS Office because I don't like it.

In short, I don't like having to relearn how to use an application every time a new version is released. Maybe when I was 20 but I have other things to do now.

Having said that, it is showing its age.

If you are mostly concerned about video, you will want to go to opera://flags and enable support for proprietary formats. (Just start typing "propietary" and it'll find it.)

Also, discovered that apparently my passwords are still there but they get automatically pasted into the appropriate places. Don't like that either. I liked having to click something to get that going. Not a high level of security but keeps the casual non-Opera user from poking around.

Not happy with this new version.
