<p dir="auto">I found where to turn this off previously but it has just started doing it again and I definitely didn't turn it on again!</p>

<p dir="auto">As Opera dev version (which updates weekly or even more often) user, I've got the 'nasty' habit - when Opera indicates updates, I navigate to Opera installation folder, find the latest version subfolder, find the "opera_gx_splash.exe" and rename it to something other. Then, when applying update, stupid big O notification does not appear; I don't know about sound (my PC has sound turned off).</p>
<p dir="auto">I hope in some sunny day some developer finds enough sense and allows to turn this stupid notification off. Forever.<br />

I just assumed it did, because it used to.</p>
<p dir="auto">We used to be able to turn this off, because it delays your web browsing while it self-promotes, so it is quite intrusive. It would be far better just to open the browser window and overlay a single line message on that and allow you to type in the search box while it informed of the update.</p>
<p dir="auto">I shall try to find the suggestion option!</p>
