I've just migrated to Firefox. That bug makes Opera unusable with Youtube in my case. If I open Youtube on the Opera, it makes a new Opera system process. Even if I close it, the process reopen when I run Youtube on the other Chromum based browser.</p>

My Opera runs at 2000mb or 1000mb per day, but for me it's no longer a problem as I've upgraded the RAM in my computer, taking up only 40/30% of all the memory. It's still a pain, but I've got used to it.</p>

Unfortunately if it is a bug in the underlying Chromium engine then it may be up to Chromium to fix.</p>
<p dir="auto">Having said that ... it sounds to me like the browser is trying to keep the entire stream in memory, which is guaranteed to overwhelm RAM after only a few minutes.</p>
