There's also https://reddit.com/r/operabrowser/wiki/opera/known_issues/#wiki_opera_closes_right_away you can take a look at. It's not exactly the same issue though since Opera GX starts for you and just the pages crash, but take a look anyway.

You already tried uninstalling, deleting your data and reinstalling, but just for good measure, see if a test standalone installation has the same issue or not.

Also, sounds weird, but temporarily create a new user account on Windows (local one not tied to a Microsoft account), log in and test if Opera has the same issue on that account or not. You can delete the account when you're done testing.

You can start Opera GX is safe mode just to test if it helps.

Hit Windows key + r to open the run dialog, type cmd and press enter to open a command prompt.

Then, in the command prompt, type:

"C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\Programs\Opera GX\launcher.exe" --disable-gpu --disable-extensions

(adjust the path to your launcher.exe)

and press enter to start Opera.

Any difference?

Also, what version of Windows are you on?

@leocg I’ve only been able to find one topic on a similar issue I’m having and it was from 3 years ago that had no resolution and was locked… and it wasn’t my exact issue, whenever I search “opergx crashing” my post is the only one talking about constant crashing on startup. Are there any solutions to the problem? I saw some steps to take on one of your admiration strings I’ll have to double check when I get home if I’ve followed all of them but I’m I did some if not most of them. Thank you.

Before posting, some required steps

First of all you should check if the problem is not being caused by an extension or a broken profile (Can't do either of these because OperaGX won't open, so instead I did a completely clean install). Do the following required steps, re-starting Opera after each one of them and checking if the problem remains after each one.

Disable all extensions (can't do it)

Disable the ad-blocker (can't do it)

Disable all limiters (can't do it)

Reset settings to default (done)

Reset flags to default (what is this? I'd assume I've done that since I did a complete clean install..)

Create a clean profile folder/directory (I have not done this unless it is automatic whenI uninstall and delete my profile then reinstall)

If the problem is with a web page, check if it works with other browsers, specially Chromium based ones (not with a webpage)

Check if your drivers (Graphics Card, Sound, etc) are up to date (Done)

Check if your OS is up to date (done)
