Opera updates and then reinstates the splash screen plus sound effect to subsequently delete my hearing. How do I prevent it from punishing me this way?

It's super annoying, pointless, you get the feeling that loading is longer because it first has to load that thing and it scares me every time the sound plays when you're really not expecting any sound from anywhere. It adds to the feeling that Opera is filled with tons and tons of features that you might not need. Yeah, it's really this little that just drives me crazy.
