Tested it on Chrome, same deal. Reopening the last closed tab only allows for six steps back, not a single one more

It may even be a regular Chromium behavior.

I'm just asking why is this f* up in opera. Is there any workaround, flag or something, because obviously it is not working for (some) users.

Talking about the exact mentioned above issue.
If you browse through like 7-8 or above pages and close the tab, when you restore it you will have only 6 pages available to go back.
