Clearly other browsers can do this and a a programmer I know it can't be rocket science. I am trying to move to Opera from from Brave/Chrome and in less than a day I've closed a half-dozen tabs by accident because I am so used to closing on the right and selecting on the left. If you truly want to build market share this simple adjustment (giving users the choice) would be a great step.</p>

<p dir="auto">After two years of almost daily use, I still haven't gotten used to it. I still end up closing a tab every now and then when I just wanted to click on the favicon to go to it.<br />
This is a poor user experience that the developers don't care about.</p>
