<![CDATA[Unwanted icons on speed dial.]]>Every time I start Opera mobile, Opera itself preloads a bunch of icons that I don't want. Pinterest, Facebook, Book Hotels, etc. It kind of destroys the usefulness of the speeddial/homepage.

Is there some kind of way to stop this? I have all the homepage customizations turned off. (News, latest, etc.)

  1. Cleared data and cache for Opera and Opera Mini.
  2. Uninstalled Opera and Opera Mini.
  3. Used "Avast Clean-Up" to eliminate orphans.
  4. Rebooted phone.
  5. Re-installed Opera.
  6. Undesirable icons reloaded.
  7. Uninstalled Opera.
  8. Problem solved.

I still love Opera on my desktop. Not so much, on my phone. 🤒

I'll be ditching Opera - ASAP, I just came across a fact that I was not aware of.
Opera is owned by a chinese company - "Kunlun Tech Limited"

I use it for too much sensitive information but, that stops today, moving Opera usage over to Chrome...

I wanted to give the folks out there giving that bland, blah response of "turn off suggested sites" a better perspective that the rest of actually see...

I'm using a Motorola moto e, so it's definitely Opera.

Yes, I started noticing this as well on my Samsung (android) s23.
A royal pain in the rear hinnie.

The ad bar has been showing:
1st - Walmart
2nd - facebook
with icons for AskMe / Chess / AI chat / a few others - these icons I can delete but not the ad bar that appears over the icons...

Anyone out there got anything on how to stop this. anything...!!!!????

It appears to be the latest update for, either:
a) opera
b) Samsung
