browser sounds activation/deactivation

so i am fairly new to the browser and i have therussainbadgur's browser sounds activated. some of them are fine but others really irritate me so i turned them off, or so i thought. they persisted despite by deactivation of the sound(s). after multiple attempts of deactivating the master switch, the sounds persisted. i tried to restart the browser and my computer, however i have not uninstalled the browser and reinstalled if anyone is going to suggest. but anyways the sounds have been distracting and irritating, i need some help!

So, you're talking about browser sounds from mods in Opera GX?

If so, link to specific mods you have installed?

If you're experiencing persistent sounds in Opera despite turning off the master switch, try disabling related extensions, clearing browser cache, and checking sound settings. Ensure Opera is up to date and consider reaching out to the extension developer for assistance. As a last resort, you can reset browser settings or reinstall Opera after backing up important data.

@bigbrick Goto the URL opera://mods so you can see the names of the mods.

Then, goto https://store.gx.me/mods/ and find each mod.

Then, copy the address in the address field for each mod's page and paste it here.

Also, please goto the URL opera://about in Opera GX and check what specific version of Opera GX you're using and post that version here.

I tested the mod in Opera GX 105.0.4970.63 64-bit on Windows 11 23H2 and I don't have any issue with it. I can goto the URL opera://settings/sounds_settings and turn off the annoying tab open and tab close sounds and they stay off no problem, even through restarts of Opera. I can also leave them on and turn off the master sound settings switch to turn all sounds off and that works fine too. Didn't have any issues with the background music control at the URL opera://settings/background_music_settings either.

So, next would be to make a test standalone installation of Opera GX and install the mod in it to see if the controls for some of its sound work fine in it. If so, they you'll know it's just something messed up with your Opera GX where you might have to reset your settings or start fresh with new a new profile (data).
