Real Soon Now (tm), there'll be some changes to how we do localization on addons.opera.com. We haven't updated the translations for about a year now, leaving some holes here and there as we've been adding features.

First of all, the set of languages on the site will be aligned with those on opera.com:

Some disappear, as we have no volunteers for them anymore:

Serbian

Nynorsk

Some are added:

Danish

Greek

Finnish

Hebrew

Hindi

Korean

Malay

Thai

Tagalog

Some languages translated by volunteers are retained:

British English

French Canadian

Frysian

Scots Gaelic

Montenegrin

but these would also go if the translators were to throw in the towel.

Finally, the developer pages will now be untranslated. There are a few reasons for this:

Error messages should be in English, to make it easier to search for them in documentation and on the web.

We prefer communication with our moderators in English, so the UI shouldn't imply that you should use a different language.

Part of the reason for the change is also rising translation costs. We pay most freelancers today, and use agencies for many high profile languages. Substantial changes result in $10-20.000 in fees. For this reason, the administration pages were the first to get untranslated, and then the developer pages. Many of the strings were shared between these two sections.
