Visit the opera://settings page

Make sure the mouse cursor is not in the search box under Settings,

Now type ↑ ↑ ↓ ↓ ← → ← → b a using your keyboard.

Opera will now display a power user settings dialogue, and warns you that 'these settings are hidden for a reason, they can severely mess up the browser and we can take no responsibility or performance of the product after proceeding.'

Once you've read that, click on the 'I understand, Proceed' button.

You should now see a section in the 'Browser' part of the settings page titled 'Start page', which has quite a few settings for you to play around with.
