I have more than 1000 pages at 3 windows of Opera, and several more browsers with other pages.
It can be possible with Vertical Tabs plugin and Marvellous Suspender (suspend time = 1 min of inactive).
Before this summer I used a Core i7-2500K, with only 4 cores (32 GB DDR3-2133).
Now I have 2xXeon 2697v3 with Turbo boost unlocked (56 threads @ 3.6 Ghz while loaded) and 128 GB DDR4-2400. And the 1st thing I see after upgrading - Opera doesn't start faster!
It's no internet problem, because I have 2*100 Mbit/s channels, and it's load very small.
On htop I see 5-6 cores loaded by opera. And several tabs load, then unload. It takes several minutes to get Opera ready for work. And I don't have preferences from upgrade. See options, no cpu limit found.
Where can I change how many tabs opera load at same time? Or how disable 6-core limit?
program version: 88.0.4412.74
Ubuntu 20.04.6 LTS (x86_64)
Linux 5.4.0-42-generic

Add 30 cores to VM. Similar behavior: cores used at 60-90%, network at 8 mbit/s.
I see icons at horizontal tabbar, but not in "vertical tabs". Did you know the extension, which shows icons of snoozed tabs?

I did a test today with 16 cores, 58 GB RAM for virtual machine and latest opera downloaded (version: 102.0.4880.40) in Lubuntu 22.04.
Conclusions:
Marvellous suspender load 3 tabs at time.
200+ Tabs from wikipedia loads about 2 minutes +/-.
Then I export my 1000+ tabs, load it in Mar. suspender, and see familiar stuck.
OK. I checked the "Never suspend tabs" option. Click Unsuspend all tabs, and disable Mar. Suspender.
Then exit Opera windows, load it again. And it opens flawlessly! Because all tabs are "snoozed". But the "snooze" option is unchecked in settings. I check and uncheck it again, restart Opera, and the situation replays.
When I click "Reload all tabs" => "Yes" in all windows.
All cores used almost at 100%, but network usage was very low!!! About 2-8-11 Mbit/s. Speedtest to Berlin shows 90+ Mbit/s. Youtube (video 2k 50fps at each window) shows 40 mbit/s.
So. Why does Opera slow load many tabs with youtube and other sites? It eats RAM very well, loads CPU cores, but not at 100%, and uses very little network. I tried vpn - no help.
For now, snooze is only variant, but Marv. Suspender have option "Not snooze pinned tabs", with audio, and active tab of course. Opera doesn't have this setting because Chrome doesn't.
What to do? If I receive an email, it does not show. And I must click on all pinned sites to see its icon.
