Copy and paste the line below into the address bar of Opera 11.61 and press enter/return.

opera:config#UserPrefs|ShowDropdownButtonInAddressfield

The 'Highlighted' (Blue in my case) option will be the option you need to tick (enable) and then scroll down towards the bottom and click the 'Save' button.

Have a look to the far right in the address bar, and you should see a little black inverted triangle, that is your address bar drop down arrow.

I don't have showdropdownbuttoninaddressfield anywhere in there. I have damn-near xrayed the program looking for it and searching for it. It's nowhere in Preferences that I could find. Could you tell me which tab in prefs to find it? I imagine in advanced but I could be wrong. I've looked until I'm blue in the face and still haven't found it. Thank you for your help.

If you are using the new Blink version of Opera (15 and newer), Then it's not available.

If you are using the classic Presto version of Opera (12 and older), then you have to enable it via 'opera:config#UserPrefs|ShowDropdownButtonInAddressfield'.
