The next day when I start up Opera I need to reapply the pinned tabs again. There should be a way to save the pinned tabs so they are still pinned the next time Opera is opened.

where the issue was how to keep permanently pinned tabs through shutdown of the browser and then startup. The Chrome extension, Real Pinned Tabs was used to get it done. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/real-pinned-tabs/imdpkhkoopjbdmjppehmpkngncogadbk

Old news. It has promise but has a long way to go before it should be used as a daily driver web browser. It does not handle a large number of tabs or long browsing sessions very well at the moment.

I don't plan to use it all the time, yet, because it isn't ready for primetime, but . . .

On my original question, I guess I just have to reset them every time. Thanks for the advice guys.

Why isn't it included?

Because the new version of Opera share zero code with Opera 12. It shares a name, thats it. They have to rebuild everything from scratch.

including the obvious disdain for the humble home button.

You mean the Start Button thats left to the left of the address bar? Whats wrong with it?

You sure seam to have a lot of disdain for a product they you get for free and would have no hope of every creating yourself. Feel free to talk down to the people doing all this work for you though. I'm sure it will earn you a ton of karma points.

It didn't occur to me that the ability to keep pinned tabs from session to session wouldn't be included. Why isn't it included? Beats me. I don't understand much about Opera these days, including the obvious disdain for the humble home button. I'm using "start where I left off" option to overcome the pinned tab problem, anyway. Seems like a needless step, but there you have it. If I ever stumble upon a browser that actually makes life easier, I just might marry it.

While the current version of Opera does not yet have this feature there are extensions you can install that will add it. Would that help you out?
