<![CDATA[Update & Recovery and download page give me a different version of Opera to download]]>Update & Recovery page doesn't work in Opera for Windows, 64-bit, Windows 10 (fully up to date, FWIW). The other download page -- https://www.opera.com/download -- is giving me Opera_95.0.4635.84_Setup_x64.exe when Update & Recovery reported 100.0.4815.30 available, but fails repeatedly to download it, or install it when it does supposedly download it. Of course, half the time the Update & Recovery page falsely reports being up to date. The Opera Download page, which requires one to click past cookies, disallow in my case--what is with these repeated attempts by Opera to set cookies? Obnoxious--is currently offering me 95.0.4635.84! Which I have noticed it does periodically. Why? Obviously wrong. Opera has a problem with its updating. This has been going on for years. When Update & Recovery does finally supposedly download it offers to Relaunch Now, presumably in order to install the latest version 100.0.4815.30, but no, upon relaunch nothing has happened, it does however recover the tabs last in effect, FWIW. Ugh. Utter fail. Here goes nothing, I am going to try to Relaunch Now again (for the umpteenth time), one last attempt to get 100.0.4815.30 installed. Nope, it reopens with Opera 100.0.4815.21 in effect, all the same tabs reopen, which is convenient, but the one with Update & Recovery either reports failed to download update, or Up to Date, upon checking for update again. No install of the presumably downloaded file....and the newly downloaded file does not show up in the Downloads link. Anyone?

The Update & Recovery link is still problematic, failing to download, being nonresponsive, or needing repeated clicks to work, when it does sometimes. Perhaps Opera actually worked on this, or perhaps it is simply happenstance that the download page appears to be working again, as intended. FYI. Do the Opera developers or people who fix stuff actually ever look at these pages? Anyone?

So I tried the other browser on this computer, Firefox, and low and behold (despite Firefox not being a chromium browser), it worked, and I was able to update to the latest version of Opera, when Opera itself, and the Opera Download page via Opera the browser, would neither work. Huh? So weird. I am running Windows 10 (fully updated, FWIW), and having no other issues, but the Opera updating issue has been going on for years, in fact, I was directed to the Opera download page in lieu of using the Update & Recovery link within Opera by another poster at this forum years ago. FWIW, the Opera download page did offer me that old version, once again. Ugh! The Update & Recovery link does confirm that I have the latest version installed. So the answer seems to be either have a lot of patience, and expect to have to run Update & Recovery repeatedly, as worked eventually on one computer, or use another browser than Opera to access the Opera Download page, which worked the first time back on this computer. Alas, Opera, am I the only one experiencing this anomaly? Thank you @LeoCG for your help in this. Your solution ultimately was the answer/workaround, for me, use another browser to successfully access the Opera download page, and do not get frustrated attempting to use Opera's Update & Recovery link within Opera, except perhaps to confirm which version is installed, for which it is more reliable. (Oh, in case anyone wonders if this is a broadband issue, we have 500/500, so not bandwidth.)

So attempting Update & Recovery again, I get this:

But nothing happens, and no file is download, actually. Oh well. No updates for me. Try again tomorrow, I guess.
