Today, shortly after a power outage, I could no longer view any mail. My omailbase.dat is only 4K, so it must be trashed. My question is: Can I rebuild omailbase.dat?

Thanks for your response. I think the reason I lost omailbase.dat in the first place is that it was on a flaky hard drive. I need to replace the drive before I can follow your suggestions.

If can't fix really bad corruption though. It sounds like yours was wiped out and a new one was created.

As for rebuilding omailbase.dat, you can't. You can only rebuild the search index. However, you can start with a new mail folder and import your old messages back in from the old mail folder.
