Deleting separate History entries is slow beyond any common sense.

@allanfelipe It's not "nice", because it forces me to choose between "empty History" and "easily deleting specific entries". And also because the sole reason behind this is some shitty encoding that only got introduced recently in the first place. So, no, not "nice" at all.

@superkoshej613 Haha ok, fair enough. I mean, better than nothing. But the developers could indeed take a look at some simple things that are broken, before launching these fancy stuff which I'll never use, like ai prompt or lucid mode.

@allanfelipe Or at least they should Read and Reply, well, Here, ya know. I've posted my own complaint about this History issue a month or two ago - and I'm yet to receive a single response that Wasn't "well, then just delete your entire History". Nope, it's Broken (their fault), not Overloaded (my fault). That's literally just dodging the actual problem. Annoys me a lot, mind you.

I personally can't reproduce the issue so far.
Are you using regular Opera or Opera GX or Opera Crypto or Opera Beta or Opera Developer?
What version of that Opera as see at the URL
opera://about
?What version and build of Windows?
Anything special about your installation? Do you have your profile on another drive besides the system drive (goto the URL
opera://about
and take a look at the "profile" path). On whatever drive it's installed on, is it an SSD or mechanical hard drive?
What does CrystalDiskInfo say for the health of your drive the profile is on?
Might want to check your system files for good measure.
You can make sure the file system on your drive is not corrupted. See the "How to Run CHKDSK With the Right Flags" section at https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/stuck-chkdsk-use-fix-right-way/.
Make sure you can reproduce the issue in a test standalone installation too.
Maybe some of the info can help narrow things down why Opera is being slow at deleting history for some users.

@burnout426 Hi, these are some information I can give right now. It's regular opera running on Windows 10 Home and this is the about:
Version:99.0.4788.13
Opera is up to date
Update stream:Stable
System:Windows 10 64-bit
Chromium version:113.0.5672.127There's just one 2Tb drive (mechanical).
Anyway, I don't have this kind of problem with other browsers (I have Firefox and Edge installed, but I prefer Opera).

i have a problem quite similar to this. when i try to delete an entry, whole history window becomes unresponsive. it locks itself, the whole history entry disappears even. it's really annoying and forces me to switch browser when i don't want to.

There's a performance fix for deleting history that came out in Opera Developer 100.0.4796.0. Please test in the latest Opera Developer (100.0.4801.0 at the moment) to see if this issue is fixed too or not.

Hello @burnout426, the latest version of Opera Dev. browser is working perfectly fine. I can delete single history entries both from mini history pop-up and history window. However, i got used to some of GX features such as keybord and tab sounds. Do i get to unlock similar sounds with Opera Dev. browser?
