Hi, @pauloric99

I used to experience that too, until I had trouble reducing my storage memory.
Finally, I found a new option, which is to deactivate the application in Opera's automatic download and update sources.
I use the Opera web browser on an Android phone, all sources of automatic updates are on the PlayStore, the solution is to uncheck the Opera application update.
• Note:
Open PlaStore >search application "Opera" >Look for the three dots in the top corner then click and uncheck the update application.
Good luck, Regards.
Then you do the installation, change the executable file and, after that, you can go online again.

Sorry, I tried that and it didn't work.
when I finish installing version 74, Opera automatically starts installing the latest version
