So this extension appeared on Opera a few weeks ago. If I try to make a search it redirects me to some funky search engine that frequently changes domain. Currently it is "https://gosearches.gg". But you'll probably get a 404 if you try to click that link.

The problem is easily solved by removing the extension through the menu seen above. But the issue is that every time I launch up Opera it's right back, same problem, same solution.

I'd much appreciate any help with getting rid of this extension permanently. Thank you in advance, internet people.

It may be lurking in the Windows Task Scheduler, in your system Startup processes, the registry, and/or elsewhere. For something like this, a good place to start is to install the free version of Malwarebytes (from their own website) and run a scan, removing whatever adware/malware it finds. A lot of this kind of thing will get past ordinary antivirus programs since they are focused more on malware than the adware a user often has a role in installing.
