if there is one that doesn't involve the mouse then I guess I'm not finding it. if there's not one I would like to suggest that as it is something I use quite often and a key bind for it would be helpful.

So whatever you're doing to open the link (probaby just Enter after highlighting it), try it with Shift held down.
