I would have thought that due to the fact that opera is pretty customizable there would have been such a setting within the opera browser as well. Just for reference, I'm currently the latest beta version of the browser 95.0.4635.10<br />

Thanks for your response, at this particular point in time I still don't think there's a 'perfect' chromium based browser. As far as my auto play question, I'm currently using this extension: <a href="https://github.com/Eloston/disable-html5-autoplay/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">https://github.com/Eloston/disable-html5-autoplay/</a><br />

They just rely on Chromium's <a href="https://www.chromium.org/audio-video/autoplay/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">autoplay policy rules</a>.</p>
<p dir="auto">Brave and Vivaldi have a setting for it at the URL <code>chrome://settings/content/autoplay</code>. For Edge, it's at the URL <code>edge://settings/content/mediaAutoplay</code>. Since Chromium doesn't have it by default, they include a built-in, component extension (that's hidden) to provide it.</p>
<p dir="auto">In Chrome, plain Chromium, and Opera, you can use <a href="https://chrome.google.com/webstore/search/autoplay?_category=extensions" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">one of these extensions</a>.</p>
<p dir="auto">If plain Chromium gets the feature, Opera will automatically get it. See <a href="https://forums.opera.com/search?term=autoplay&amp;in=posts&amp;matchWords=all&amp;categories%5B%5D=15&amp;sortBy=relevance&amp;sortDirection=desc&amp;showAs=posts">the Suggestions and Feature Requests forum</a> where users have asked for Opera to add support themselves.</p>
<p dir="auto">Chromium might still support a <a href="https://peter.sh/experiments/chromium-command-line-switches/#autoplay-policy" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">command-line autoplay switch</a>, but I didn't test. See <a href="https://developer.chrome.com/blog/autoplay/#developer-switches" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">https://developer.chrome.com/blog/autoplay/#developer-switches</a> for more info. If it still works, modifying Opera's shortcut to launcher.exe to include the switch with the right options might disable autoplay for you.</p>
