In my region it is always Google, in Russia it is always Yandex, etc. You can hide the search box in the start page and just use the address bar - that one can be changed, but only among the original built-in searches.</p>
<p dir="auto">Alternatively you could try editing the settings files by hand to convince Opera you were in a different region, though you'd probably need to repeat that after each update.</p>
